The brand’s long-used slogan, “Explore beyond limits,” captures Acer’s commitment to pushing technology forward.
Meaning and History
Acer’s visual identity has always been simple and minimalistic. Before adopting the Acer name in 1987, the company operated as Multitech, and its first two logos were created under that original name. After the rebrand, three additional logo designs were introduced, each reflecting the company’s growth and modernization.

What is Acer?
Acer is a major Taiwanese electronics corporation established in 1976. Today, it stands as one of the global leaders in producing personal computers, gaming equipment, servers, VR technologies, and a wide range of tech accessories. The company is well-known for its innovative approach and strong presence in both consumer and professional markets.
1976 – 1983
The first Multitech logo, created in 1976, was a graphic symbol built from seven black hexagons, each containing a small white icon. The design represented diversity and the multi-functional nature of the company’s products. The sharp black-and-white palette emphasized professionalism and the technological focus of the brand.
1983 – 1987
In 1983, the logo was redesigned with a completely new concept. The palette shifted to blue and white, and the emblem became more geometric and futuristic. A bold sans-serif wordmark appeared beneath a new abstract symbol resembling a stylized heart with a flat bottom. The mix of rounded and angular elements gave the logo a modern and dynamic feel.
1987 – 2001
The company officially adopted the name Acer in 1987 and introduced a new logo in two color versions: purple and burgundy, or a classic black-and-white variant. The design featured a bold italic lowercase wordmark paired with a geometric emblem consisting of an arrow-like shape on the left and a small rhombus to the right. This iconic identity remained unchanged for nearly fifteen years.
2001 – 2011
The 2001 redesign brought a more refined and simplified aesthetic. The logo became a bright green lowercase wordmark in a custom rounded sans-serif font. Its most distinctive detail was the elegant, lighter “e,” which added sophistication and balance to the entire composition.
2011 – Today
Acer refreshed its logo again in 2011. The lowercase letters retained their familiar shapes but became bolder, thicker, and smoother, giving the wordmark a stronger, more modern presence. The green color was brightened to a more energetic and vibrant shade, reinforcing the company’s focus on innovation, progress, and youthful energy.
Color Selection
Green, formed by combining blue and yellow, symbolizes both energy and calmness. Acer’s bright green identity conveys freshness, originality, harmony, and a forward-thinking spirit. It reflects the brand’s reputation as a modern and imaginative technology company.
