What is Pokémon ?

Pokémon (an abbreviation for Pocket Monsters in Japan) is a Japanese media franchise managed by The Pokémon Company, founded by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures. The franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996, and is centered around fictional creatures called “Pokémon”. In Pokémon, Pokémon Trainers are people who catch, train, care for, and battle with Pokémon. The English slogan for the franchise is “Gotta Catch ‘Em All!”. There are currently 1008 Pokémon species.

The Pokémon logo is an eye-catching yellow and blue logo. The Pokemon logo is one of the most popular and instantly recognizable logos in cartoon and toy industries.

Most of us know its English variant, but it’s been translated into several other languages. All Pokémon logo variants look the same. Only the Japanese logo version is left out of the entire series as it’s different both in color and form. Nintendo owns the rights and trademark to both logos.

What font does The Pokémon logo use?

The Pokémon logo was probably custom designed. There is a fan-made font named Pokemon that resembles the logo lettering. The font is available in two styles, Pokemon Solid and Pokemon Hollow. They are free to use and you can download them for free here.
